We’re in the news again! Fittingly, Secret Surgery has been featured in a recent edition of Real People magazine, and we got bags of attention and lots of page space, so we’re going to take our time and show you the features over a few different blogs.
One of the Secret Surgery features in the magazine was ‘Sun, Sea and Silicone’, and as the title might suggest it was all about going abroad to bag yourself a nice holiday and a hot new bod while you’re there. The feature dealt with all the different aspects of surgery abroad, including the risks (or lack of), the savings, the background to how it all started, and of course, some expert advice from our wonderful founder and MD, Angela Chouaib!
It also contains top tips for those of you who are out there looking for a surgery abroad provider now, because, as we always stress – you can never be too careful to choose the right one.
If you’re popping out today, pick up a copy of Real People magazine – it’s full of juicy stories and gossip about your favourite surgery abroad clinic – and it’s got some good pics too!
We’re pleased to announce that a recent feature in the UK’s top Woman magazine included a small spot with Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery, who discussed the effects of social media on today’s society – specifically with relation to us body-conscious women!
The feature went on to describe how social media has slowly led to an increased awareness of facial ageing in society; obviously, as we regularly see patients looking to rejuvenate their faces and turn back the clock, we’re well-placed to talk about just how we think today’s women feel about their ageing looks.
The ever-increasing popularity of such anti-ageing treatments as face lifts, neck lifts, facial fillers and Botox obviously means that we’re growing less and less patient with our age! Of course, we don’t think there’s any problem with that – it just means we’re going to be the most beautiful middle-aged people the world has seen yet!
You can read the full column in Woman magazine, which should be on shelves in the UK, and have a quick look at our sneak peek picture of the spread here.
Angela Chouaib, MD and founder of Secret Surgery Ltd., has recently been interviewed by Jenny Southan for an exclusive feature on the cosmetic surgery tourism industry in Business Traveller.
For our very special readers, we’ve put together a special three-part blog featuring only the juiciest details of the interview…
Which are the cheapest destinations for medical tourism? The word ‘cheap’ isn’t a word I would use… It’s an Industry where you get what you pay for… It’s more affordable in Poland but this is due to favourable exchange rates and lower cost of living there. What every patient should search for is the highest clinical standards at the price that is within their budget. You should never be driven by price when it means compromising of safety or standards.
How has the medical tourism industry evolved over the past years? UK patients have long travelled to the US and other developed countries of Europe to seek the expertise and advanced technology available in leading medical centres. As Cosmetic surgery becomes more acceptable and accessible to the working class this has led to an increase in patients numbers.
Which countries have the most reputable hospitals? Are there particular affiliations or accreditations you need out look out for? I believe the most popular destinations to be Belgium, Poland and Turkey. There are various ISO & JCI accreditations that are Indicators of best practice and Industry standards.
