If you remember John Rowland on Desperate Housewives – Gabrielle’s teenaged gardener – you’ll remember how smokin’ he was, and particularly how buff his chest always looked!
So how crazy would it be if Jesse Metcalfe, the actor who portrayed John, had opted for a male breast reduction? We can’t tell you either way whether he has or hasn’t, but recent pics of the actor playing tennis certainly make it look like his super hot pecs are a little smaller than they used to be.
If he has opted for a breast reduction, he won’t be the only hunky male star to have done so. Dwayne Johnson, AKA The Rock, also chose to have a breast reduction a few years ago when he felt that his ultra buffed up pecs were getting a bit too big for him.
Of course, most men who opt for male breast reduction do so not because of the size of their pecs, but the size of their manboobs. Gynecomastia – or man boob syndrome – is relatively simple to treat, and it can make a huge difference to a man’s self esteem.
We try to keep you all up to date with the latest news and gossip about celebrities and their cosmetic surgeries, but sometimes the woman-centric gossip columns can be misleading; actually, a lot of men have cosmetic surgery, too – and celebrity circles aren’t an exception to this rule.
Plenty of our favourite male celebs have gone under the knife in the past few years. We all know that Michael Jackson had his fair share of surgeries, including a couple of nose jobs and some chin work, and everyone’s top pop hunk Enrique Iglesias had a mole removed at the height of his stardom.
Mickey Rourke is probably one of Tinseltown’s most famously worked-on celebs, and we won’t even try to count the number of surgeries he’s had.
So there: there really are plenty of top hunks to choose from when it comes to success stories from Hollywood’s hottest men going under the knife. It just goes to show that all of us care about how we look – men AND women.
We all remember that earlier in the year Angelina Jolie made the brave decision to undergo a mastectomy to reduce her chances of developing breast cancer – and bravo to her. Well, it looks like she’s had her implants done, and she’s looking absolutely gorgeous with them!
We’ve spotted some of the first pics to come out since Angie has started dressing more like she used to – with a fabulous, loose-hanging top – perfect for this hot weather. She looks absolutely fantastic, and obviously isn’t remotely regretting her decision to go under the knife.
We’re pleased to see that the 37-year-old star has lost none of her confidence since the operations. We’re with everyone who thinks that Angie is a modern-day hero for doing something which a lot of women would be too afraid to do. She’s also highlighted what’s really important when it comes to surgery and your body – health. Being healthy and happy is better than looking like a supermodel – don’t forget it!
We first met Matthew Perry when he played Chandler Bing, the lovable joker in Friends. That was two decades ago, and Matthew has suffered from middle-aged spread just like the rest of us have. He appeared on a US chat show, Ellen, in the past week, after which apparently some of his own friends teased him about his weight!
Speculators reckon Matt might be thinking of going under the knife to get rid of a few of the extra pounds he’s put on, and we wouldn’t blame him if he did. He’s still an attractive man, but his career hasn’t exactly taken off since the end of Friends. Perhaps shedding some of the excess weight will help him to land those roles?
Of course, we hope Matt doesn’t make this decision just because of what his friends say! He should be opting for surgery because it’s what he wants for himself. We’d recommend some liposuction and possible a tummy tuck depending on how much excess skin is left after his weight loss. Of course, a good diet and exercise won’t go amiss either.
It sounds like a medieval torture practice, but actually it’s a new kind of plastic surgery which is hitting the clinics in LA and Hollywood. It all started a few years ago when George Clooney told an interviewer that “I did get my balls done. I got them unwrinkled – it’s the new thing in Hollywood – ball ironing.”
He was probably just kidding, but Hollywood doctors have taken his ‘suggestion’ and brought it to life; there’s now a procedure being offered which tightens up excessively loose scrotum tissue, and it’s being considered by lots of men – in fact, Jonah Hill has said “I’d consider anything” about possibly undergoing the procedure.
What do we think of ball ironing? Ladies – is it something you’d like to get your partners doing, or do you prefer them natural? It’s bound to be a procedure that divides opinions, but we’re anticipating that some clinics this side of the pond will no doubt pick the practice up if it proves popular enough in the US.
If you’ve been keeping up with the gossip columns recently – who am I kidding? Of course you have – then you’ll know that Kim Kardashian is expecting – and the effects of her baby weight have already been published for the world to see.
Not long ago, she Tweeted pics of herself with new luscious lips which she said are her ‘pregnancy lips’, alluding to the fact that most women put on a little weight when they’re carrying a baby. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never heard of pregnant women gaining weight on their lips!
Speculators wonder whether she’s actually indulged in a little lip work; they certainly look much more plump than before, and this kind of effect can easily be achieved with the help of fillers.
While Kim looks utterly gorgeous with her new lips, we hope that she had the surgery before getting pregnant; most surgeons wouldn’t operate on pregnant women, even if the procedure is as routine as simply inserting fillers. If you’re thinking about treating yourself to some fillers, have them before or after pregnancy – not during!
If you haven’t heard about Angelina Jolie’s mastectomy yet, you must be the only one. The gorgeous starlet opted to undergo a double mastectomy when she found out that she was in danger of developing breast cancer – just like her mother.
Despite facing some criticism and tasteless commentary from some people, we think Angelina’s decision was incredibly brave. She made the choice to sacrifice something so personal in order to protect her own life and stick around long enough to ensure she sees all of her children through to adulthood. How can the decision be anything but laudible?
Of course, we should also be giving a big pat on the shoulder to Brad Pitt, who sounds like he has been utterly supportive throughout Angie’s ordeal.
We don’t yet know what Angelina’s doing for breast implants – but we’re sure she’ll look gorgeous anyway. Angelina Jolie has proved herself to be a true star – just as fabulous on the inside as she is on the outside!
Rebecca Mader, well-known for her role as Charlotte Lewis in LOST, has recently gone public with her feelings about plastic surgery. Despite being one of the most gorgeous actresses on TV – and British, to boot – Rebecca has said that she is insecure about her looks and has previously considered plastic surgery.
The 36-year-old former model said “There’s pressure all around from the media for beauty for every woman in the Western world. Whether it’s cosmetic surgery or losing weight, I think there’s a lot of pressure for women to be perfect in our society. It’s gotten better for me because I used to be a model, so it was worse in the fashion business than it is as an actress. I’m happier. I can be a little bit bigger and get away with it.”
We don’t think that Rebecca has had any work done yet, though it sounds like it’s only a matter of time before she decides to. And, of course, if she does – we won’t blame her at all. If I had natural looks like that, I wouldn’t want to see them fade away when I hit 50 either!
Yes, you heard it right – a dog! Obie, a super cute and super brave little dachshund, has recently undergone a tummy tuck.
Don’t worry, we love animal rights as much as the next person – this tummy tuck wasn’t exactly cosmetic. Obie lost an impressive 37lbs and was left with excess skin, which was making him uncomfortable. As you might know, dachshunds have low tummies, and skin rubbing against the ground can cause discomfort.
“He’s always had the personality where you can really tell he wants to interact,” Nora told Fox News in the US. “He wants to get around. So now that he can it’s pretty exciting. He’s just getting to be a dog.”
Last we heard, Obie was recovering from his operation in Portland, Oregon. Fingers crossed that Obie’s recovery goes off without a hitch!
We’ve all heard the stories about those celebrities who just don’t seem to know when to stop – a boob job here, a tummy tuck there – and somehow end up looking like a completely different person ten surgeries later. But whose fault is it really, the patient’s, or the surgeon’s?
This all comes about as Alicia Douvall blames her doctors, at least partially, for her past surgeries. The British model is a well-known plastic surgery addict, previously having had 330 plastic surgery procedures. This includes 16 breast augmentations! Alright, so most people don’t get anywhere near this figure – most of us couldn’t afford it! – but when you do, whose fault is it really?
Douvall has said that while she did have a plastic surgery addiction, the blame falls somewhat on the doctors who approved her for surgeries again and again and again. What do you think? Is it up to the professional, or the patient? While it’s true that patients shouldn’t place all the blame on a doctor, it is the doctor’s place to know when surgery is going to help someone – and when it isn’t.
Doctors might get this wrong sometimes, but after 330 surgeries, we might think that any doctor in their right mind would have known that this patient was never going to be happy with the away she looked! What do you think?
